A sweet pittie is all alone on the streets and trying to find a home, but will she find one? I was hoping for a yes!

This was a really sweet (though at times also heart-breaking) book. I was just so sad for Holly! She had such a good home and then was left behind. Waiting for her owners to come back and eventually we see that this sweet pittie tried her best to blend in. Tried to make something of her life even if it wasn’t easy. I was a bit worried at first when she was brought to the shelter, I have heard of US shelters that have a kill-policy. But thankfully, oh so thankfully, things look up for Holly and I was just cheering and I was just so happy that she was able to get her party!

However, I do have to add, that I could also kind of understand that people were afraid of her. I know that if I see a pitbull I will take a longer way around, for two reasons. 1) Too many bad things in the news (and not all have to do with owners being bad) and 2) I am just not that into bigger/stronger dogs because when I was a kid my friends and I were attacked by German Shepherds, which led to one of my friends being bit. I may give a pittie a chance if I know the owner/trust the owner, but otherwise, sorry to the Holly’s in the world, but no. I am not the person for you (even if you look very cute in pictures and in this book). But I know there are enough people who do want a pittie. And I wish all the pitties a happy home!

BUT, yes a big BUT, to dump her on the streets and even go as far as be aggressive towards her? No, that was not good. You know what kind of puppy you are going to get so why dump her later on. Unless you just bought her without any care/interest, but even as a pup you can see this is going to be a pittie. It just didn’t make sense. Also why not bring her to a shelter you know and trust? Why abandon her? She doesn’t deserve that at all. Plus, I found that guy at the dog park just horrendous. How dare you!

I am happy that in the end she got her happy ending. I won’t tell you what, but it made me smile.

The art was just so pretty and I love the style. Even in the sadder moments. And the happier moments I just love the pops of colour!

All in all, a sweet and heart-breaking book with a happy ending about a pittie named Holly. I am so happy I was able to read this book and I would recommend it!
