Review for Sharks! Sharks! Sharks!
I received this book from Netgalley/the publisher in exchange of an honest review.
I just love sharks, always mesmerised by them. From big sharks to small sharks. Oh, I would so love to meet a whale shark one day. It must be a magical experience! So yeah, I had to have this book when I spotted it over at Netgalley.
In this fun book (and I just love the title), we learn all about sharks. Big sharks, small sharks. Like, did you know there is a dwarf lanternshark that fits in the palm of your hand? I need to see that for myself. We learn about babies and childhood, like I didn’t know that lemon sharks go to mangrove pools to get babies and these places are perfect for their pups to grow up and I just love the illustration that was included with this part. We learn about their superpowers and their very sharp and pointy teeth (and weird if you are the Snaggletooth Shark). About food (and no not always us, most of that is just an accident). And there was so much more and I loved it all! I think my favourite parts would be about their patterns and Glow-in-the-dark Sharks! I so would love to see the Velvet Belly Lanternshark! There was just so much good and fun information packed in this one and I wasn’t bored once, in fact I devoured this book. Om nom nom.
I really enjoyed the art in this book, Vicky Barker did a fab job. I also love the end papers and the illustrations right before and after the book ended. Especially the ones at the end I hadn’t expected, they surprised me, you don’t expect a big beast to just stare/growl/look hungry at you. I love it~
All in all, this book is perfect for little kids wanted to learn about Sharks (but also adults who love sharks). The book is playful, colourful, illustrated, and give facts in a fun way that just makes you want to learn more! Recommended!
