But as my very kind and always supportive editor, Charlotte, pointed out on more than one occasion: “Defining retrograde amnesia versus antero-grade amnesia yanks us out of the romance a little bit.

Once I finally got a handle on it, though, I loved exploring this Cinderella royal romance where true love gets a second chance, along with a prince learning how to embrace the better aspects of his nature away from the demands of the palace. I set the majority of this story on the Caribbean island of Grenada, a beautiful gem with a fascinating and at times incredibly challenging history. The story kicks off in London, though, at an exclusive diamond shop that features in the other two books of this trilogy: ACCIDENTALLY WEARING THE ARGENTINIAN’S RING by Maya Blake (out now!) and HER BILLION-DOLLAR BUMP by Dani Collins (available June 25th).

Esme tries to evade Prince Julius’s questions about their previous relationship after he tracks her down to the Caribbean island of Grenada.
“Do royal security guards always speak so frankly?”
“I’m not a security guard anymore.”
“Do I like any type of drink?”
“Wine. Rosé.”
She sensed him staring at her, tried to keep her lips flat even as laughter tugged at the corners.
“I believe you’re lying to me, Miss Clark.”
“How would you know?”
He laughed. Startled, Esme turned to look at him and promptly wished she hadn’t. His teeth flashed white against his tan skin. The longer cut of his hair made him seem more wild, unrestrained and even more potent.
“Here.”
She handed him her glass, then promptly wished she hadn’t as he placed his lips where hers had just been. The intimacy of it brought memories of the last time they’d kissed to the forefront of her mind, when he’d been about to walk out of her room at sunrise and come back to brush his lips over hers, gently, one more time.
The last time.
His cough brought her back to the present.
“Strong.”
She grinned wickedly as she grabbed the drink from him. “Like I said. Rosé is more your style.”
