OMG, I have had my eyes on this one FOR AGES. And now I was finally able to get it and read it, and I am just wishing I could time travel back and yeet this one in past me’s hands. READ IT. Go.

😍 I loved seeing Jenny meet her grandma and see them connect, bond, and get closer. I also loved learning more about Jenny’s mom and why there was a break between her and her mother. Plus, the grandma was such a sweet character and I loved how she, unlike her daughter aka Jenny’s mom, was more supportive of her granddaughter’s endeavours. Knew that her granddaughter also had to have some fun. It is not always study study study, work work work, music music. There is time for everything.
😍 Jenny was such a sweet character and I love how hard she worked but also how she tried to be open more to new experiences and enjoy her life. I fully agree with her uncle, you can still make all your future dreams come true but you don’t need to study/work 24-7. You are allowed to be a teen and just have fun. And I loved that Jenny did just that. But also that she got stronger and more secure in what she wanted. She wasn’t afraid to stand up to people, especially her mom. Yes, in the end she is still a minor so what mom says goes, but I did love that was slowly able to speak up. Make her wishes clear.
Plus, she was just so sweet and I loved seeing her make friends almost instantly at school and even though her roommate wasn’t the easiest, she kept on trying to talk to her.
😍 Sori took a while to actually like, but when she started to come out of her shell and open up? I loved her! She was such a fun and sweet girl and I loved the connection she got with our MC.
😍 Also bonus points to Angela and Gi Taek who were just the BEST characters and BEST friends. Oh, and some bonus points as well to the cinnamonroll of XOXO, Youngmin. I just loved him and wouldn’t mind a book with him as the MC. He was sweet, funny, and I loved how he was there for Jenny!
😍 I loved seeing Jenny connect with Korea, discover more about her roots, the language, and everything else.
😍 THAT COVER! So swoony! Such pretty colours!
😍 The food! There is a lot of mention of yummy foods. Not sure how many I would actually be able to eat given my allergies, but I would be definitely willing to try all those that I can eat. YUM! I want to go to Korea now and eat some good food.
😍 I loved how Jaewoo and Jenny met. I was instantly shipping them. They instantly had that spark. I loved seeing them explore the city, eat some yummy foods, and then lastly that photograph!
😍 And I loved how they got closer and closer in this book. Yes, Jenny is at times a bit unsure which I could understand she doesn’t want to make a scandal and given how touchy people are about the lives of their precious K-pop stars. But I am happy that they did have their moments when she decided to just go for it. To try it. it was just all so cute. How they searched for small corners to just kiss or talk. The romance was just A-Plus.
😍 Jaewoo’s mom and sister. BOY, I did have a small heartattack when our couple was spotted at the cinema, I was like, OMG, this is it. Now things will go to chaos. But it turned out to the adorable little sister of Jaewoo. And of course mom wanted to meet Jaewoo’s girlfriend as well. And feed her. Haha. It was just so cute and fun and I love that the author added this part!
😍 Jaewoo was just such a sweet guy! You just want him to be happy. He has such a personality and I love every bit about him. Who wouldn’t fall for him? But I love that he isn’t just looks, he is also dedication, smarts, and more. He is the full package!
😍 The boarding school/music school was just so much fun and I wish I could be part of it. Or at least some school like this as I am no musician. Haha. I loved that Jenny was able to do her school there and also get enough credits for her US school.
😍 Camp!! I just love that there was a part featuring camp activities! From hilarious evenings/nights to fun activities to swoony songs. YES!
😍 I loved the dance club/dance extracurricular parts. Poor Jenny though, she is really more a sedentary person. Thankfully she does have friends who are helping her out with her dance moves to make sure she doesn’t fail.

Oh, and on the We Bare Bears? Definitely also for teens/adults. I myself recently found some merchandise and I now have a couple of We Bare Bears items!

😕 I thought the bullshit third-act breakup was just in Adult/New Adult. But here it is in this book. It just didn’t make any sense how she 1) didn’t tell Jaewoo was leaving and 2) did that to him. It was just NOT OK. I was not happy. I knew the book would have a happy ending, so this just didn’t make any sense. Instead of just being honest, instead of maybe just trying, she did that.
😕 I wasn’t too happy with how Jenny treated people and her music near the end. I get that she was on a time schedule and wanted to make the most of things, but no need to throw everything in the fire that isn’t Jaewoo.
😕 Sorry Nathaniel. You are sweet guy, but I don’t know something just kept feeling off about it. I also didn’t see the spark between him and Sori. Or well, I could see it from Sori’s side, but either Nathaniel shut it off completely or he didn’t care enough? I don’t know.
😕 I didn’t like the mean girls.
😕 Ian, BYE.

All in all, I could talk endlessly about this book, haha. I will keep it at this and say that this was such a fun, cute, adorable, wonderful book that had me swooning, cheering, and I just want more! I would highly recommend this one to all.
