Review for National Trust: Blossom Origami

National Trust Blossom Origami by Clover Robin, Flowers and plants and animals on the coverA delightful origami book perfect for spring and summer!

I just LOVE origami and my husband as well so when I spotted this book over on Twitter I knew I had to get it for us both. We could use some new projects and what better project than paper flowers?

And I just ADORED every bit of this book! There are 13 projects to try out. From leaves to flowers to cacti there is something for everyone. It is a perfect project book for spring/summer, each one of these just gave me 100% sunny and happy vibes. Each project two pages, on one side you will get an illustration featuring the nature item we are going to make and on the other side we get all the instructions on how to make this one! The instructions are easily followable and I love how detailed it is. Yes, some require a bit more thinking, but I don’t mind that, I love it when origami goes a bit more 3d!

Each project has one full page illustration featuring a scenario with the plant/flower, however be sure to look at the gorgeous art before you start, because it isn’t just illustrations, if you look closely to it you will see that someone really drew flowers and plants and everything else and then cut and pasted it to form an illustration. I didn’t notice at first but then I noticed something and I started looking closer and saw the details. Such a delight!

And at the end of the book you will get 50 sheets of origami paper in a rainbow of colours along with fun patterns.

Oh, and I love the quotes with each project. From well known people to some I didn’t know (or maybe heard of but forgot).

I have to say that some felt a bit lacklustre,  like the cactus that didn’t feel like a cactus to me, or how the Clematis was just any flower now and that is a shame as it is one of my favourite flowers.

But other than that I really really enjoyed this book and I would highly recommend it! You don’t even need to buy extra paper, you can use the ones in the book!
