Step right up, step right up, gather all and see all the fabulous things that our worms can do!

I saw this one at the library and just had to get it. It looked like a lot of fun!

In this book we read all about Darwin’s fascination with worms. I knew a bit about it, but not everything so I was excited to read why he was so fascinated and what he did to discover what worms could do! And well, he did all sorts of things! From playing music for them to giving them stinky cheese to seeing if they would react to light/darkness to so many other fun and fascinating experiments. I loved that, at least for this book, it was all happy times for the worms. It was fun to see Darwin explore the world of worms and I loved how he kept going on to figure out how worms tick. Each new experiment, each new discovery just made him happy and also more determined to find out even more.

It was fun that we also got the POV of the worms which gave some more explanation on Darwin’s thought process/what he did for the worms.

I did feel for Darwin at times! People were so judgy and I just wanted them to understand Darwin and accept his love for worms.

I loved that, despite how people acted towards his obsession, he just kept going and he was confident in his worm friends. He knew they could do something spectacular and he was going to find out. And what it is? Well, a load of shit. I just loved how excited he was over the mere prospect of worm dung. He even got a present from one of his friends with, you may be able to guess it, worm poop. A big one even. That just made me laugh but also go aww, because it was so sweet how happy he was with his worm friends.

Bonus points that the Dutch edition (which I read) went for Wormenshitshow (wormshitshow) instead of the Super-Pooping Worm Spectacular. I thought that the English was the one to use Shit, but no, the Dutchies decided to go for that! And that is also one of the reasons I got, teehee.

The illustrations by Gwen Millward were just fantastic! I love the style.

Oh, and I liked that we got some more wormy facts at the end of this book~

I had a lot of fun reading this one and I learned a ton! I would highly recommend this one to everyone!
