Review for The World of Worm: Numbers

The World of Worm. Numbers by Esther van den Berg, Worm sitting in a beach chairA new Worm this time we are counting up to 5 AND we are going to the beach!

In this new book from The World of Worm we are counting! Not to ten, we are keeping it at half of that, 5! And it isn’t just a counting book, just like with the previous books in the series (shapes and colours) there is also a story! In this one that is Worm going to visit his friend at the beach! We see him travel through the country (underground of course) and we get more more and more beachy items as he gets closer to his destination! I just loved he was going to visit his friend and I was looking forward to seeing worm laze around on the beach (and wonder what we will see there).

Through his journey we learn numbers! Our worm comes across items and animals and it is up to you to count how many you can see of each one. From 1 to 5! I really liked looking at the pictures and see what items/animals would be gathered now. It is a really fun way to teach kids their numbers, one that surely will stick with them.

I loved that instead of just holding up a sign with the number our worm is doing it all with his body! He is quite flexible as you can see with some numbers, haha. I really loved seeing him wiggle in the right shape! That is sure to be remembered well by kids!

The illustrations by Esther van den Berg is wonderful once again. I just LOVE her style so much!

So this read would be PERFECT for the summer months! Beaches! But also learning in a fun way how to count to 5. I cannot wait to see what is next for Worm!
