Review: Poppy’s Perfect Crayons
I received this book from Edelweiss in exchange of an honest review.
This was a supercute picture book about a little girl pig who has new crayons… but doesn’t want to use them because she doesn’t want to waste them (and is worried about making mistakes with them and ruining them). I just FELT that in my soul. Haha. As an adult but also as a kid I had things that I just didn’t want to use because then they wouldn’t be perfect. And what if they broke? Or if something happened with them? So I could fully understand Poppy!
I just loved how her friends didn’t mind that she didn’t want to use her crayons, they happily donated ones they didn’t need anymore! That just made me smile and I could see they were all good friends. I loved seeing Poppy’s drawing come to life and was wondering if she ever would use her own crayons… or if she would finish it without needing them. I won’t spoil it, but I really loved how it ended and I loved the last pages so much. Go Poppy!
The illustrations were such a delight to see and I loved seeing all the various artworks by the little kids. Oh, and the little mouse was adorable, her crayons were almost as big as her!
All in all, this was just the cutest thing and I loved every bit of it. Colourful. Sweet. Full of friendship and heart. Recommended!
