Review: The Breakfast Club Adventures #3: The Phantom Thief

The Breakfast Club Adventures #3 The Phantom Thief by Marcus Rashford, Alex Falase-Koya, Marta Kissi, Green cover featuring various characters reading a mysterious noteThere is a thief in school and it is up to the Breakfast Club Investigators to find out who P.T. is and what their goal is! Excitement!

💖 The mystery was just SO much fun! I really enjoyed following our group of investigators trying to make sense of what was going on and who was leaving these notes. Plus, also fun to see what was stolen and how that all was connected. It got quite exciting at points and I loved how the Phantom Thief operated and how smart they were. The really reminded me of those older movies with thieves that seem like ghosts (or cats) given they leave no trace and seem to just be able to come and go without any problems.
💖 Seeing all the various clubs and read more about them. Maths club is DEFINITELY not for me (eww maths) but I would love Arts Club. Gymnastic would also be fun.
💖 The Phantom Thief, as I said, I loved their sneakiness. I knew quite early on in the book who it possibly was, it was quite easy to deduce, but I don’t mind it at all. I was just wondering how long it would take our gang to figure things out and see them catch the PT and that the mystery would be solved.
💖 I loved that there is more to it then just taking away things from clubs. It is just not theft. It is more!
💖 The illustrations were just OODLES of fun. They made me smile and I love how they brought the story further to life.
💖 Our MC Marcus is such a fun one still. I like that he never gives up, that he tries to keep friendships in many places, and tries to help wherever he can.
💖 I am also happy that, despite this being book 3 which I didn’t know, there are no spoilers for book 2. You read that they solved the case, but that is it. That always makes me happy. Some book series spoil previous events and you need to read them in order, but this series you can just go for it and read which you want.
💖 The cover + the colour of it, I love it! I always find it fun when series have different coloured covers. And this one makes you curious. What is the gang doing in the art room? Why are they in the dark?
💖 The first bit of the book in which they capture a vampire, or is it a vampire?
💖 The Scooby Doo reference (I am a BIG BIG fan of SB so this made me so happy).

🤔 I hope that Asim learns to chill and be a bit more respecting towards others. What he did to Sahar was just rude and bullying.

😤 But Stacey was the WORST character in the entire book and frustrated me to no end. Her constant OBSESSION with ghosts got so on my nerves and I am happy to say that I wasn’t alone because it seemed the gang was also getting fed up about it. I understand girl, you love the supernatural. You want ghosts. You want to see a good haunting. But a PHANTOM thief doesn’t mean it is a REAL GHOST. And asking the culprit (after having captured that one) if they are sure they are not ghosts? WTF? I hope that in the next (and also the previous book because I found out this is book 3) Stacey is a bit LESS like this, because ARGHH.

But despite Stacey I had OODLES of fun again with reading this one and I am so happy I found it (at a bookstore SHOCK). I would recommend this series and I will keep on reading!
