Top 10 Books August 2024

Afternoon all!!

August 2024 top books

A happy welcome to a new Top 10 Books post! Say hello to my favourites from August!

Yes, for August I can give you all a Top 10! July was a good month, but with zero 5+ starred books and in the end six 5 starred books (not counting 3 books because two are other volumes in a series and one is a collection of WebTOON stuff that I technically didn’t read this month), I couldn’t really do a good Top 10 post. But August? August was FIRE. I guess it is all because I was hoarding books for my VacayGust that July was a bit low on favourites.

VacayGust/Vacation August, was a great month! I relaxed a lot, read even more and more and more and more, did some DIY projects (not all are finished because my ADHD is just not into continuously doing the same project + some had some weird instructions so I haven’t gotten far), watched some fun shows (currently addicted to the Louisa & Rowan shows on HBO now that those are up there), relaxed some more and enjoyed the sunny days. I also helped out my best friend with his home as the housing cooperative wasn’t happy with the colours in his home so he had to make them white (or pay a big price for them to do it) + he had to remove the flooring as well. So I had a couple of fun days helping him out, eating some yummy lunch he brought along, and everything is perfect now for him and he can just enjoy his new home. And I visited the zoo twice, once with my hubby + Coco, and my dad, my uncle, my aunt, and niece which was a lot of fun and we had pancakes as dinner, and second last week with my hubby and Coco. I just LOVE the zoo and I am happy that there are two that still allow dogs because Coco is absolute nuts about the zoo (so many fun scents, interesting animals, and lots of humans to gain pets and love from). I am now mostly relaxed, though I will never be fully relaxed because of my dad. With his Alzheimer and his health, and the care home is still not doing well on giving him meds and how they handle him at times. I know they are trying, but LORD, the picture I got from my uncle/aunt when they visited.. well that is burned into my mind (and I am crying again), and it is good I am about an hour plus away with public transport, or else I would have been there in a heartbeat yesterday… 🤬

On to books! This month was a good reading month. A very good one even! I hoarded a ton of books so I would have a fun VacayGust TBR and I also added some other books to it as the month progressed, because this girl cannot stay away from libraries, haha. I read a ton of good books (and yes, also some not so good ones that I don’t want to talk about).

This month I had five 5+ starred books and nine 5 starred books. That is really awesome! So many new favourites~

Disclaimer: The order of this list is random. The 5+ stars (if I have any) will always be on top, but that is the only non-randomness about the list.
