Review: A Dress to Kill For
I received this book from the author in exchange of an honest review~
This is just 21 pages, so it is a super-short novella, but does it pack a punch, heck yes!
How far are you willing to go to get the dress (or dresses even) of your dreams? Some people will say that they won’t go that far. Mention a price, generally monetary. But some people. Well, they are willing to pay a lot more. Like the MC in this short story, who I didn’t always particularly like. On points I could understand her feelings, but on other points, well my sympathy just flew right out of the window points to her sympathy just leaving the building like that . She wants a dress for a ball and she wants to stand out and she is willing to go deep to find the store that makes very special clothes. And when I say special, well, the woman there only makes one dress at a time and for a very special price. So what happens when the MC has a dress she desperately WANTS and a friend of her has?? Well, you will find out as you read on. No spoilers from this girl.
Given the ending, who she meets… Well, I can tell you, I would LOVE to read more. Maybe some more short stories featuring these people. Or maybe just a bigger one to continue this story or even flesh it out more.
But for now this short story/novelette is just perfect! I really had fun reading it and I love how the author was able to write a story that felt complete and that made me shiver. I would recommend it for this spooooooky season~
