Review: The Scariest Campfire Story You’ve Ever Heard

The Scariest Campfire Story You've Ever Heard by Ron Keres, Arthur LinI received this book from Edelweiss/the publisher in exchange of an honest review.

Remember the previous book in the series? Which was named: The Scariest Story You’ve Ever Heard (my review here). Well they are back again, this time we are going camping and SOMETHING IS THERE!!!

In this one a father takes his two kids along with him on a fun camping trip and we read all about the fun trip, from all sorts of fun events, to marshmallows, everything is perfectly fine. But then night comes and OMG what is THAT SOUND! OMG THERE IS SOMETHING! Quick, be quiet. Quick, no lights. Quick, let’s hope that it stays away. This was just so delightfully written in fun rhyme and it was delightfully spooky, well OK, for me it was spoopy as I knew it wouldn’t get too scary. But for kids it may be a bit scarier of course.

I loved seeing how everyone reacted in the tent and also what plans were brewed, because you cannot stay in your tent forever of course. Besides, a small tent is not going to hold something big, like Big Foot! So best is to take your chances!

I loved the ending, and no I won’t spoil it, but it was just perfection! I enjoyed that greatly. I think that other readers will also be delighted by it!

The art was fun and it fitted so well with the story and the creepiness/spoopiness of it all.

All in all, a fun read perfect for Halloween, I would definitely recommend it to all!

Star rating, 4 stars
