Sunday’s TBR Updates ~ 13-10-2024

Afternoon all!

Bakemonogatari, Books, Gif, Red Books, Girl, Boy, Diving/Jumping, Anime

A happy spooky welcome to a new Sunday’s TBR Updates!

This week wasn’t too bad, but boy, my body is TIRED. WOW. And you would think that once it hits bed it is zzzz time, but no. Not at all. I think I really need to take a week with a bit less, but with Coco still recuperating and my dad not doing the best lately I just cannot relax. sighs But I am trying! Going to try. Haha. I visited my dad on Tuesday, he was NOT in a good mood, even got physical (hitting himself so I had to stop him) and he got aggressive as well. Thankfully, the care people saw it all happen and saw me crashing and sat me down with some water and talked to me until I felt better and they had to get back to work again. I am so thankful that that day the good care peeps were around (and not that banshee that really cares way too much about the rules). My dad did say sorry in the end and we hugged and told him it will all be fine, I still love him. Which is true. I know it is the Alzheimer doing its horrible things. I hope that today was a better day for him (writing this on Saturday eve so I don’t know how the visit want). Other than that, Coco had a bit of meh start to the week, but she had some good days after that. We are now doing 2 bigger walks (around 10-15 minutes each for now) and during the afternoon she can go near the house and do her things there. Plus, at home we are also motivating her to come to us or do something active instead of laying around. She isn’t always too happy about it, but we bribe her with lots of love and hugs and oh yes all the snacks, haha.
I also visited Library #1 and #2 and got a bunch of new books to read (see the pile).
Reading-wise, a pretty good week in that regards. Had fun reading a fair bit of spoooooky books! So happy I can finally read those now.

What did I read from my TBR? Fine Print #2 (a bit confusing at first but then I loved it), Murder Road (this was pretty good and spooky with plenty of twists), Trapdoor Mysteries #3 and #4 (I was disappointed in the ending, but I liked the mysteries in both of these books), The Sleepover (just as good as it was when I first read it).

I tried and dropped (and at least tried a chapter or so)? Sprookjes Bestaan (not in the mood), Impossible City (boring), Lieve Hannibal (confusing/yawn).

And here is a new stack with a lot of fun new library books mixed with my Spooktober stack leftovers (at least until the new books come in, haha). And yes it is big. But maybe that will be a good incentive for my body to just understand to take it easy.

Thank you all for reading and let me know in the comments what you think of my stack + how your reading is going (reading anything spooky?). I hope everyone has a fun weekend + fun week, enjoy! Stay Spooky~

  1. Look at that beautiful pile of books Mehsi! Well done. I hope you love them all! Use them as an excuse today around and rest. Stress is not good for your body and it will really mess you up!💜

It must be so hard to watch what your dad is going through. Just remember he can’t control what is happening, its the disease and remember, he loves you, he doesn’t want to be that way. He can’t help it. I’m glad you had the nice care peeps with you and not the nasty banshee! Hug your dad when ever you can and try not to stress the bad days.

Please take care of yourself Mehsi! Snuggle with Coco or your hubby and let that feed your heart and soul. Stay strong and get some rest!

Have a wonderful week and I’m stepping off of my “mom” soapbox now!☕📚🍂💜💜

    1. Aww, thank you Susan for all you sweet words, and I definitely don’t mind the “mom” soapbox, I think it is really sweet of you and I just feel the love/warmth. *hugs* 😍😍😍 I will try to take it easy this week (and well, OK, other weeks as well). Stress is already messing me up badly, taking August off helped a bit, but it feels like I am just falling harder now. I just don’t know how to stop it, well other than taking rest, which just seems to be a bandage on a bleeding wound that won’t stop. Maybe I should visit a doctor, but I am just not sure what they can do to help other than tell me to rest and not stress (which, haha, is not something one can just switch off).
But really Susan, thank you so so much. I wish I could give you a hug in real life. 😍😍😍😍
