Waiting on Wednesday ~ Stage Fright by Wendy Parris
Evening everyone!!!
A very spooky scary welcome to a new Waiting on Wednesday!! BOO!
Today I am eagerly waiting for Stage Fright by Wendy Parris. Well, technically it is out already (17th September), but I haven’t had the luck with Amazon to get it. Another site seems to have it, but I want to first see if my first order at their site comes in right or not before maybe making the switch to there. So until then, waiting with anticipation, because DANG it sounds so good!
Let’s see, why do I want this one so badly? There is a locked room mystery (LOVVVEEE), there is a séance (BRING IT), a deserted theatre (OHHHHH), someone lurking in the dark (WELL NOPE) and that cover is just terrific and fab. I am so curious to how this one will go, and who will survive! Given that it is children/MG I wonder how far it will go. I mean with YA/Adult there is generally no break for the characters, people just die. And while I did read plenty of children/MG that also didn’t hold back, I wonder if this one will be the same.
A new locked room scary story about twelve-year-old Avery, who plans a séance at a deserted theater to bond with her friends, only to realize they’re locked inside with someone—or something—else. This spine tingling read is perfect for fans of Katherine Arden and Lindsay Currie! When Avery returns to her hometown after moving away a year earlier, she is hoping to jump back into her friend group as if nothing’s changed.Unfortunately, new interests, secret crushes, and changing dynamics get in her way. To reunite her BFFs, she suggests they host a séance at an abandoned theater that was the site of a horrible tragedy. What starts as a fun outing, soon becomes a fight for survival after the group gets locked in…and discovers they’re not alone.
