Blog Tour ~ The Box by Jo Linsdell ~ Review
Afternoon all~

A very sparkly welcome to the Blog Tour for The Box by Jo Linsdell! I am so delighted to be able to read Jo’s book and review it~ I love a good children/picture book, and books about boxes? Well, who doesn’t love a box?
Next to a review (★★★★ stars) I also got information on the book + Jo.
Let’s get started!
Review
I received this book from the author in exchange of an honest review.
As a kid I loved boxes, and well, confession, as an adult I still love them. Sometimes we have to get something big and I just keep the box for a little bit more. Haha. A few years back I even made a fort out of it. So when I got the invite for this tour I just had to sign up! I was curious what this little kid would imagine/dream his box to be.
In this book we meet a little boy and his box. He has GRAND plans for it! Really, big grand plans. Because a box can be anything! A box. Of course. But also a pirate ship! Or a mountain to climb! Or a bus to take your plushies to their work and other fun places. Or even a kitchen to make snacks! I really loved seeing all the grand plans the boy had and I loved how the illustrations clearly showed the imagination with a line-art-drawing around the box (or on the box). For instance with the bus one we see the box and the boy (and his cute plushies) and around it is a bus shape! Or with the shop we see an awning drawn over the box with the boy bringing his own toys to finish the whole thing. It just made me smile.
People who read my reviews often know that I am not always a fan of repetition, however I didn’t mind it as much in this one. I quite liked seeing the sentence: “Because a box is just a box, except when it’s not.”.
The art was simple, but fun! And again, I loved seeing the imagination of the boy and what he saw the box as in line-art around the box.
All in all, this book brought a big smile on my face and I enjoyed it greatly. Now I really want another big box back in my life! I would recommend this book to everyone. Young. Old. Everyone who loves a box and all you can do with it (either real or imagined).

Like you, I still want to hold on to good boxes whenever I get one just in case I could make something with it.
You’re very welcome on both accounts~ 😍
Haha, I am glad I am not alone in hoarding/holding on to good boxes. 😊
