Review: Can You Get Jellyfish in Space?

Can You Get Jellyfish in Space by Sheila Kanani, Liz KayAre you curious what animals went into space? Then this World Book Day book will be perfect for you!

FINALLY I was able to read this one! I pre-ordered this one when I spotted it, but sadly this was the only World Book Day book that didn’t work out. Thankfully, after a few months (so around July) I suddenly spied it back up on Amazon and of course I had to buy it. This time it did make it to my home!

In this really fun book we learn all about various animals that went up in space, such as the titular jellyfish. Because yes, those went up in space in a special way! I loved reading about all the various animals, like Ham the chimpanzee, or of course Laika the most famous of all. But we also read about moths, mice, and many others, so many animals went up in space. Quite a few I didn’t even know about, so I was definitely excited to learn more about them and get to know them. I am glad that these days animal welfare is much better, back then anything got sent into space, or underwent heavy training.

The addition of adding galaxies with the same name/shape as the animals mentioned in the section was a fun addition. I knew there were many galaxies but that they even had fun names or referenced to animals, no. I should really read more about space, but a lot of it is so dry, haha, can someone bring out a fun book about all sorts of galaxies in space? Or is there already one? Recommend it to me!

I also love that at the end we get some information about humans in space and see what accomplishments they have done and how sending animals has helped humans go into space.

The illustrations were cute and I just love the style of them~

All in all, recommended to all interested in space and then specifically what got sent up there to the stars~
