Review: Newborns : How Baby Animals Come Into the World
I received this book from Edelweiss in exchange of an honest review.
I just LOVE animal books and I am always on the hunt for new ones to read! So when I saw this one, and that adorable cover, I knew I had to download it and read/review it!
In this adorable book we learn about 24 animals and 1 human. Yes, humans are animals, I know, but I think you all know why I put that one separately. We learn of some more known animals like chickens and mice and guinea pigs, but also learn about giant manta rays, Alpine salamanders, and many other animals. I just love the variety. They could have just gone for the animals everyone knows, but instead they have chosen some that are bit more out there. I definitely appreciate that and so bonus points for that!
I really enjoyed how each animal got 2 pages, 1 page with information on the birth/parenting/growth and then another page with a fun fact (though in the case of a couple also some information that was too long for the first page). Facts like that a baby giraffe stays with his mom for 22 months or how a baby dolphin rolls its tongue in a straw shape to drink milk. I just love the fact that elephants trumpet when a new baby is born, SO CUTE!! I learned quite a few new things which I just love. So some more bonus points for the facts~
The art was a lot of fun! I really like the style of it, reminds me a bit of those old Japanese drawings/paintings.
All in all, this was one book I would recommend to all. A cute easy way to learn a bit more about newborns in the animal world.
