2025 Quarter Year Crisis Book Tag
Afternoon all!
A happy welcome to the 2025 Quarter Year Crisis Book Tag! I did this tag for the first time last year and thought it would be fun to do it again this year, so here we are~
This tag was created by Roisin’s Reading on BookTube.
Number redacted. Haha. Not sharing that, just like last year. I read plenty of books. Some awesome. Some horrible.
Have you found a book that you think might be a 2025 favourite?
Oh HECK yes. Unlike last year I only have 3 five-starred-plus books but I definitely have one book that I loved the most out of those three, and that is The Family Experiment by John Marrs. A book full of twists and turns and never a moment of just chilling. This book grabs you by the hand and just yeet you all around. Each time I thought that I had figured things out, SMACK, a new plot twist was thrown in your face (or you were thrown into that plot twist, haha).
Any least favourite book of the year?
Let’s see, I did DNF plenty but I generally don’t remember those. So I am going for my lowest rated book of this year and well, I actually got 3 books that I rated 0.5 stars. Roihu which just disgusted me so many times. Then there is Remina which has me solidify my point that Junji Ito should stick to short stories. And lastly Divine Raiment Magical Girl Howling Moon, Vol.3, this one already had a lot of ecchi/fanservice but then went total south in the last volume, rape, tentacles, more rape, a lot of rape, tons of fanservice that felt forced, I was just not happy.
Most read genre?
Not sure if it is entirely correct as not all my books are on Storygraph after the import I did yesterday, but let’s see. Most read genre this year is *drumroll*: Manga followed by Fantasy followed by Children’s. Well, OK, maybe it is pretty accurate, haha. Apparently my moods are adventurous, followed by light-hearted, followed by funny, which also checks out. Oh, and my average rating is 3.93!
A book that surprised me?
*points to favourite question* Family Experiment! Definitely.
A book that has come out in 2025 that I haven’t yet read?
OMG, so so many books! With the prices being as they are it takes quite a bit before I can get to books. But here is a top 3 of books I would LOVE to have in my hands~
One goal you made that you’re succeeding at?
As each year, I don’t set a goal or goals for myself other than have fun and just read. And so far I am rocking that goal!
My blogging goals, well, not going so well, but I guess I am happy that my little blog is still rocking and finding new people and making readers happy!
One goal that you need to focus on?
The whole blogging take it easier thing and not to look at stats too much. Let’s see if this year I can do those, however my blog is almost all full until June. So um.
How many books have you read so far?
Have you found a book that you think might be a 2024 favourite?

This is a fun tag! America Spirits in a new title for me but I think I would love it, especially since it’s about the Fox Sisters!
Thank you! I hope we both enjoy the book, it sounds so good!
I need to get to this tag soon. I can’t believe we are here already! The Family Experiment is one that I haven’t heard of. I’ll have to check it out. Blogging is always a yo-yo for me. I have been stuck at 885 followers for almost two years. I got to 891 and then a week later back to 886. haha. I’m so over it. I’m just doing what I want! lol
Same! I saw it on another blog and I was like, but wait isn’t this WAY too early for that? Then I looked at the calendar and saw we were halfway in April. 🙈 Hope you enjoy The Family Experiment! Well, I am at least glad I am not alone in things, I am trying my hardest, hopefully one day I will get over it for 100%.
I have a difficult time in connecting with manga in recent months, even though I used to read a lot. That’s a fun tag, I think I’m going to do it for myself soon!
Oh, I am the reverse of you, I cannot connect to anime any more these days! I used to watch a lot of series each season and now I am already glad if I get through one. Hopefully you get back into manga reading! Thank you, cannot wait to see your answers if you do this one~
I’ve got SOMETHING IN THE WALLS on hold at the library! THE FAMILY EXPERIMENT sounds particularly creepy.
Ohhhh, lucky! I am still glaring at Libristo and Amazon to get the price down a bit more, hope you enjoy! And yes, highly recommend that one, I am hoping to get the earlier books by the author (apparently set in the same universe) soon.
