Review: I Got Married to the Girl I Hate Most in Class, Vol.1

I Got Married to the Girl I Hate Most in Class (Manga) Vol. 1 by Amano Seiju, Mosskonbu, girl with an apron holding an omurice with a heart on it made with ketchupI received this manga from Edelweiss/the publisher in exchange of an honest review.

Two people who hate each other’s guts (or well the girl hates the guy’s guts and the guy is mostly confused and afraid of her) have to get married. What happens next? Well, chaos.

I am just getting too old for this bullshit. I love a good deredere, but holy hell, the girl is just SO unlikeable. She is an utter bitch. The things she does to the poor MC are just 100% toxic. If he was a slight bit of a pervert I could understand some reactions, but the poor guy isn’t even trying anything and she is just accusing him of doing things to her or that he is going to do things to her, the poor guy got sucked into this as well, please. Just stop. And with the bath scene, I get what she thought and as a woman I understand, but the guy has NOT made one move towards you so please. I am glad that eventually she noticed and knew she was the wrong party, but then she wasn’t able to say sorry. WTF. The guy is nothing but galant and nice to you, and you act like a total bitch. And I am sorry but only he hates you or well doesn’t like you much is because you fly off the handle every time, you compete with him for everything, you shout and scream at him for no reasons. Geez girl.

I am glad that we did see some moments in which she was sweet/shows she could be a sweetheart, but I just want more of those.

But yeah, the guy could learn some cues, haha, great it works with you that you clean up once a month (eww btw), but you are now living together with someone, so up your game.

I am glad that they finally had a conversation at the end of the volume and both set rules to make things work better.

Plus, I am happy that they do seem to get closer in the end after having that conversation and are truly trying to make it work. But I am just not sure if I am up for more of it. If our girl just kept this up and stopped being a total bitch, sure, but I am sure there will be more moments. And I don’t want that.

Also, on that point, is it bad that I don’t believe that Shisei is 18, haha. I would give her 12. At times she gets much mature, but for most she acts like a lost kid from the nearby elementary.

The art was a bit mixed. Sometimes OK/nice, but there were some scenes that were so pretty, like when they say their first names to each other.

All in all, if you like bitchy girls x 1000 I am sure this is perfect, but I am just too old for this. I have seen the trope too many times and I just am tired.
