Sunday’s TBR Updates ~ 27-4-2025
Afternoon!
Happy weekend, happy Sunday, and a warm welcome to a new Sunday’s TBR Updates!!
This week was pretty good. Not much exciting for most of the week. Last week Sunday was Easter, same on Monday, so two relaxing days! On Friday I first visited my dad, who was asleep in an armchair in the main hallway, so I went to clean his room/add some yummy foods before trying again, but afterwards he didn’t want to wake up. He only grumbled a bit that he knew I was there but he was not in the mood to wake up (which I can understand, we all have those days). I am at least glad that I could see him + I had a chance to ask some questions to the care peeps so now I am all up to date again. Hopefully next time he is a bit more awake. Afterwards I went back home and on my way visited Library #4 and picked up a reservation and tons of books. And on Saturday it was Kingsday which means walking through the kid’s fleamarket and see if there is anything fun, eat poffertjes, check the horses and the events, and a best friend popped by as well.
Reading-wise, well, an amazing week! Thanks to Easter I had a ton of time to read and throughout the rest of the week I also had fun with my stack + Comics Plus + whatever was still next to the bed and too big to lug around.
What did I read from my TBR? Een eigen stal (this was cute), As the Dutch Do (this one made me laugh and I am happy I got to read it), Een dag met de debutante (a fun and cute read that got quite spicy at the end), Gij brengt mijn vrede niet (an OK book, though the ending was just too open), One Piece 38/40/41 (these were just so good and full of action, drama, tears, LOVE), Roadblock (what a piece of shit teens, glad that in the end they did what was right), Kaiju 8 #6 (WOW WOW WOW), Het Kralingse Bos (this was such a fun and pretty read, now I want to visit), Afterparty (a bit confusing at times but WOW for most), Irmina (a good read, though I didn’t like how the two fell apart).
I tried and dropped (and at least tried a chapter or so)? Don’t Let the Forest in (too flowery, I didn’t get the friendship/love, characters sucked), Petra Witjes (I just couldn’t get into it, I was halfway and decided to go for something else), Uitgelaten (the best friend is horrendous), Geen saldo (didn’t like the MCs), Far Sector (too confusing).
Here is a new stack with tons of new Library #4 books I got on Friday! Plus a few new physical books that came in on Friday + one I bought on Saturday. Not on the list but I am still reading (or trying to, haha, my mind is a bit tired), Evocation, Dormice & Moonshine.
A big big thank you to all for reading this post (along with the likes and love from this week). I hope everyone has an amazing week, enjoy! Oh, and let me know in the comments what is on your TBR or if you have any fun plans for this upcoming week!
