Review: Wild Book Day

Review: Wild Book Day

Wild Book Day by Karl Newson and James Brown featuring a lot of book characters whirling around and having a great timeWhat happens when characters from books come out? It is a Wild Book Day!

I came across this one at the library (magically in English even which made me happy) and I had to bring it along home because it sounded like such a treat!

In this wonderful book it is time for Wild Book Day! All the books in the stores, libraries, and anywhere else are going to PARTTTTYYYY! Yup! Even books want to have a wild day that they can just roam around and have a blast. But it isn’t just the book, oh no, even the pictures and the characters are going out to celebrate! We see dragons taking flight, pirates digging for treasure (with a digger of course, no need for shovels when you can have something better), we see princesses twirl, and much much more. It was just a blast to see all the celebrations and I loved every bit and detail of it~

However there is one rule (and that one confused me) the party must never been seen by humans. Why does this confuse me, well, because in an earlier two pages we clearly see various kids, and unless they came out of books, they were there when all the chaos happened. Haha, so yeah.

The rest of the book we see the books and characters have fun and I loved seeing many characters that I recognised. Some just vaguely, others more clearly. And I am sure I missed quite a few as I just cannot remember all the books in my life, haha.

The art by James Brown was a lot of fun. His style fit the book and the chaos in it perfectly and I loved all the colours and details.

All in all, I had quite a lot of fun with this book. At times it got a bit repetitive, but in overall I am happy I found this book at one of my libraries~
