Roll The Dice Book Challenge

Roll The Dice Book Challenge

Hello! Hello!

Girl with a staff and a book moving left and right

Happy Monday everyone! A very happy welcome to a new Book Tag/Book Challenge! Today I am doing the very fun Roll the Dice Book Challenge~

Which I found over at Books are 42 (check out her post) four days ago and just knew I had to do ASAP. Since I try to do at least one book tag each month I had a space reserved for it, no moving around for this girl which I already have to do often enough as I get inspiration for new posts or visit libraries and want to do a haul post, haha. So I am delighted that I can do this very fun tag!

As always I am not tagging anyone (I don’t know who did this one already, plus some people don’t like being tagged), but if you are doing this one let me know/link back to my post, I would love to see what everyone is recommended/what everyone has chosen.

Favourite Stand-Alone

A recent one from me would be this book!

This book was so stunning even when translated to Dutch and I loved every moment of it. About the last year of primary school, about family, about loss, about brothers, and more. It definitely made me cry a few times. Also, that cover is just gorgeous and I would mind having a print of it.

Favourite Sequel

Feral Volume 2 by Tony Fleecs, a whole bunch of cats under the stairs staring at the readers while there is a figure shown up the stairs

This one! The first book was a ride, but the second book. YIKES, it was so disturbingly awesome. The crazy cat lady trope but now with a scary disease, even more cats than normal, and some weird other things going on.

Favourite Trilogy

Haha, I had to look as I couldn’t remember reading a trilogy this year/last year, so I went through Goodreads lists and selected the one I loved the most. And that is: Wolves of Mercy Falls! I absolutely loved this series when I read it a couple of years ago. I should really re-read it and see if I love it the same. Or maybe not, haha. Imagine not liking it as much, gasp.

The Wolves of Mercy Falls series by Maggie Stiefvater

Favourite Four Word Title

Stars in Their Eyes A Graphic Novel by Jessica Walton Aska, Graphic Novel, Two people kissing, adorable, cute, Prosthetics

Here is one from last year that I really really loved! Cons, first love, kisses, tons of cute moments, disability rep, gorgeous art.

Last Five Star Read

Detective Beans Adventures in Cat Town by Li Chen, two cats one wearing a detective outfit and the other filming him running around a big tree with yellowing leaves

That would be this book! The super cute sequel! In this one not one story but several adorable cute adventures/mysteries with a dose of humour, adorableness, friendship, and fun.

Six Books I Recommend

Les Normaux by Janine Jansen, S. Al Sabado, Two boys looking romantically in each others eyes with in the background ParisLittle Monsters by Jeff Lemire, Dustin Nguyen, group of kids in black/white shadows with a longer shadow coming out of the kid at the frontThe Book of Bill by Alex HirschThe Junction by Norm Konyu, boy with a village in him and trees behind himThe Family Experiment by John Marrs with a black cover with the red silhouettes of three people two adults and one childDeadstream by Mar Romasco-Moore, girl in the dark holding her phone and creepy hands coming for her

I picked 4 books that I loved this year and two from last year! I would highly recommend all of these. And yes. They are mostly horror/thriller. That is a big mood for me this year, haha. I normally read quite a bit of horror but this year? WOW. So much.
