New Releases I Hope to Read in August 2025
Hi all!

A very happy welcome to a new New Releases post, July is just flying by and so I am here with all the books I would LOVE to get/read in August!
July has flown by. It was a good month though. Some gorgeous sun, some hot days that made me melt (and wish I had either a pool or AC, haha). I did some gardening again, my veggie box is doing well though I had to separate the pumpkin plants as they were just all over each other, haha, now one is in a pot and the other in the veggie box and both are doing pretty nicely. My basil is overdoing it though, so today I am baking/drying some basil to crumble and use as herbs for my meals. My strawberry plant gave some things and now is like NOPE. My mint babies are growing HARD I cannot wait until they are huge and I can use them. And I added some new pots and plants front and back. But good news on the gardener, tomorrow he should come by to add the plants and trees we wanted. Yup. I know, last month I was saying he wasn’t coming/doing anything, and it took until tomorrow before he finally is coming. WOW. I seriously hope he isn’t going to ask for a review. 🙊
I visited my dad a couple of times, sadly, for most of those visits he was not in the mood. One mood turned happy in the end, but others he was just grumpy or pretended to sleep after telling me he was a killer (anyone with more experience in the Alzheimer department can explain that one??). But I gave him plenty of hugs, just chatted a bit as he didn’t mind it when I talked, cleaned up and gave him fresh yummies.
OH, and I visited a fun pop-up store at the Rotterdam Central, a Free Fashion store! You get three vouchers each day and you can pick out three items you want with that. Plus, you can bring clothes you don’t want with you so they can put it in the store! I found some really fun items and I hope to visit again on Friday so I can see what new items are there. EEP!
Reading-wise, a good good month, I finished my BBNYA in time (whooo), I read manga (Comics Plus or Manga Plus) and there was plenty more~
And this upcoming month seems to be filled with horror, haha, which is fine with me because I can always use more books in the horror category. This year has been a horror-fest and October is coming in and I have been (trying to) save some books for it. I also got a couple of Dutch books I want to get my hands on!
Let me know in the comments what you are eagerly waiting for this upcoming month! Got any more horror recs for me?

Ohhh sll of those covers are so pretty!! I have ride or die on my list aswell!
Oh, hope we both enjoy the book! I love an amusement park x horror book, so I am hyped!
Ride or Die looks good! Hope you get to some of them!
Yes, I am so excited about that one! Amusement park x horror = YES please. Thank you! Hopefully!
Aww Aggie and The Ghost looks adorable! And Feral and Hysterical sounds cool, I see Mother Horror’s posts on IG all the time and they’re fantastic so maybe I should check out the book! Feral also looks fun but I am wary of books where bad stuff happens to the animals :S
I know right, I loved Mina, Pokko and the Drum both and so I am eager to get this one as well! Yes, she has some great recommendations, I follow her on BlueSky. I would definitely recommend her other book: 101 Horror Books to Read Before You’re Murdered, it is a great book filled with fabulous books (that I should really get to reading, haha). Yeah, if you are wary of that I wouldn’t recommend, in it we follow a group of cats during a rabies apocalypse setting.
