Review: I Picked up This World’s Strategy Guide Vol.1
What will you do when during your scavenging for herbs you find a mysterious book… full of deets about your world and events?
Meet Sana a girl with gorgeous red/orange hair and a kick-ass attitude. One day during herb picking she finds a book… and not just any book it is about the world she lives in. There are graphs, facts, deets about people she knows, stories that happen/will happen, houses, and much more. You can imagine she is both intrigued and worried. I would be to if I found a book that talks about my world as if it is a game. I love that Sana took care of the book, fixed it up, and then used it for good.
Yep. She does her best to do good. She learns that her older brother will die and makes sure that doesn’t happen (what kind of effect that will have we will probably see in the later volumes because as we all know fate/death isn’t so easily avoided without consequences), she reads up on treasures and plants, she learns about characters and how they tick (which works mostly in her favour later on), and she does a lot more. I love that despite this power in her hands she stays mostly just your normal small town girl who loves finding herbs and making potions. She just found something extra to add to her things. I am also happy that she does see the danger of the book. She doesn’t just show it around, she keeps it hidden.
Oh, and, sorry to Sana, I hope that she puts her hair down more often. She was so adorable as fortune teller.
I am definitely curious how things go. She has met the prince (who is an ass), and the volume ends with her meeting the protagonist (according to the book at least). What will the story bring and how much will she be able to use the book to help with things, and will anyone find out about the book?
The art was a lot of fun and I like the style. There are plenty of fab details plus, unlike a lot of manga, this one is in full colour! Which made me so happy.
All in all, I will be continuing this series. It was just too much fun! I would also recommend it!
