Review: The Crayons Trick or Treat
Say hello to the Crayons! This time they have all gone out for Halloween~
I have read several of books featuring these crayons and I was eager to see how they would celebrate Halloween! It is the spooky season after all!
In this one our crayons are donning their most fun outfits and are going trick or treating! But do they know what they are supposed to say? Well, I think: “I’m naked.” isn’t the one. Though it made me snort and laugh so hard when the skin-coloured crayon just shouted that. And from that point we see our crayons try out their best greetings and I was just in stitches. These sweet innocent crayons wishing someone Merry Christmas. And from that point we see them try more greetings, being polite, and more. And I was just laughing so much. The ghost (or the white crayon) at least got the idea, but even he had the wrong one. Do they ever find the right thing to say? Yes. Eventually. Until then it is just a big laugh at what they come up with. Not to mention the skin-coloured one constantly announcing he is naked.
I loved that each crayon had a matching outfit. The green crayon was a witch. The orange one had a pumpkin. The white one was a ghost. And so on. Each one had something that fit with their colour.
The rest of the art was also fun. Simple, but colourful and I like the style.
All in all, a delightful little picture book about trick or treating and what to say (and no, don’t say you are naked).
