A spooky welcome to a new special post! Say hello to Spooktober Recs from the Blogger Community!

So during September I kept asking people on BlueSky if they wanted to share their recs for Spooktober! Their favourite spooky (or spoopy) book! I got several responses and I am sharing them here today! There is still plenty of Spooktober left so you got all your time to read/check out these books~ I can tell you that there are some fantastic books on here and that I even added some to my TBR. Yup.

The Cosy Moose recommends: The Crow Folk (Witches of Woodville #1) by Mark Stay. Saying this about it: “Cosy, yet spooky and very unsettling. I make a point to re-read it every October.” + “I’m not a massive fan of scary, The Crow Folk is a nice mix of spooky, creepy, and hopeful.”

Rex Burke recommends: Tender is the Flesh by Augustina Bazterrica. Saying this about it: “That is one disturbing book – a future you don’t want to envisage.”

He also recommends a Horror SF mashup: Under the Skin by Michel Faber.Β Saying this about it: “Unsettlingly creepy. The film featured Scarlet Johanssen.”

Becky’s Book’s recommends: A House With Good Bones by T. Kingfisher. Saying this about it: “My first β€˜cozy horror.’ Perfect for those who like their humour dark and their stories creepy.”

Tessa Hastjarjanto recommends: Shattered Spirits by Cal Black. Saying this about it: “A dark fantasy novella with cosmic horror elements. It won second place in SFINCS (an indie novella competition).”

Mary Kontrary recommends: A Night in the Lonesome October by Roger Zelazny. Saying this about it: “This book is a sometimes gory, often funny, always wonderful pastiche of all the great old horror novels & films with fabulous cover art. As one YouTube critic (Liam aka Hemvar) calls it, it’s a love letter to Gothic horror.”

    1. Thank you! I just love transforming my blog for Halloween~ Thanks! Even with the more spoopy (cute/cozy/spooky) books? Yeah, a lot of people love spooky stuff, some even spookier stuff than I do, haha.
