Review: ZomRomCom

Review: ZomRomCom

Zomromcom by Olivia Dade, purple cover with two people a guy holding a sword and a girl holding a hatchet/knifeZombies, vampires, romance, and tons of banter! I had so so much fun with this one!

😍 The chemistry between Edie and Max. It was instant. Sure, at first I wasn’t entirely sure about Max as he seemed to be an asshole, but then we learn about him (quite soon) and I was just shipping these two like mad.
😍 Gaston songs. So many of them. I had such a laugh that eventually Edie found out that Max had superhearing so she just went humming/whispersinging songs.
😍 Banter. YOU GUYS these two have the best banter I have seen in a while. I just love seeing them go back and forth. Edie with her wits, Max with his human this and human that. Both of them having the greatest fun together.
😍 Zombies, but this time truly made by humans and different than your average zombie. I love it, and I found it terrifying. Especially as we read on and get more deets on why they were created and how horrible wrong it all went. brrrr
😍 Other supernaturals, like Max who is a vampire, but also Fae, witches, oracles, werewolves, etc. There is a whole beautiful cast of supernaturals and I just love it. Love meeting new characters and finding out they are trolls, or fae, or something else. Plus, reading about the council, and all that.
😍 Learning more about Max, and not just about his Gaston first name (teehee) or that he likes doing fashion (if you want to call it that), but about what happened to him and why he is hiding in that city/town.
😍 Learning more about Edie. Why is she staying in this dangerous place? What happened to her parents? About her candle business and how she started that.
😍 The food, or well, the food that Edie eats and reading the reactions of Max.
😍 Going through the city, from a scary scene on a bridge to meeting counterfeiters to meeting girl scouts near a forest, and more.
😍 The cover. The colours (purple/green) just pop and I love seeing my two favourite characters on the cover, ready to battle and oh yes definitely holding hands!
😍 Dose of humour. I love my zombies horror and terrifying, but I also love zombie books with tons of humour. Some lightness in the battles that are to come. Something funny when things seemed to go bad.
😍 Sexy times! OH yes, these two are going for it.
😍 The last part. The big battle. The grand finale. And all that happens there. Not just terrifying moments but also some funnier moments.

🤔 Just didn’t like how it felt inconclusive/like there is going to be a second book. I don’t mind more Max x Edie, but I would have liked to see things tied up.
🤔 Oh, and I had a very hard time visualizing how the zones worked in regards to the zombies. I just couldn’t picture it and even know I am not sure how it all worked.
