A happy welcome to The Creepy and Freaky shop where tales of horror will be told and you can only just run.

I was looking for a new manga when I came across this one on MangaPlus. It looks adorable and cute but then goes Junji Itou-esque. Aka perfection!

👻 I love that the stories are contained in spooky boxes! And that you can open them, if you dare!
👻 Oh, and the boxes designs, so cool! And scary. And nightmare fuel, haha.
👻 The stories were awesome. From stories about ghost fluids in taxis (which turned a bit ewww) to strange balls with stuff in them to dolls and growing hair to much more! There is a wide arrangement of stuff some scarier than others. Some pure nightmare fuel, others a bit more tame. I really had fun reading them and I also love how some stories (or characters) come back later to continue those stories or to bring new stories.
👻 On that note, I love how each story is done in the way of an interview. We see a person sitting in a dark room and telling their story. One of those interviews/scenes in the interview room was my favourite, I won’t tell you but it definitely made me go OH SNAP!
👻 I also love that it is set in a little town and that the one giving the scary stories sells them in his own store. Yup, imagine a little store that is filled with indescribable horrors just set in a cozy town. It made it fun, you get some spooky tales when people (either customers or our overeager shopkeeper just sharing them) come by but also read about this strange but cozy town.
👻 Plus, the town also has some weird/strange things going bump in the night (and well day at some points which made things even creepier, so be sure to look around when you are reading, who knows what is hiding behind a door or a sign). Plus, there were signs on things that also appear in the stories, I love when things connect.
👻 On that note, I also love that there is an origin tale for our frog MC. Yup. He seems to be doing fine, wait until you learn what happened to him and why he has come to this little town. shivers
👻 I really love the cute versus scary stuff, even the cute has its moments you are like NOPE.

All in all, I need more of this one and I cannot wait to read on. I prefer waiting until volumes are out, but we will see if I can wait that long given that there are quite a few chapters out now on MangaPlus. I would highly recommend this one if you like strange/cozy towns and spooky tales!
