Review: In So Deep It’s Love Already, Vol.1
I received this book from Tokyopop in exchange of an honest review.
I got this one blindly when I got the mail, which meant I didn’t read the blurb. I just went for the cover. Haha. So I was delightfully surprised when this one turned out to be a F/M romance and not the M/M romance I had expected when I saw the cover. Hey, to be fair, I read a lot of manga and most boys don’t blush like that unless it is M/M romance.
I was also at first a bit unsure about things, I mean our MC is an otaku and goes to stan Kamitani (the new guy). That seemed creepy, no. But I can tell you as the story continued I wasn’t minding it that much, in fact, I could see that there was something more blooming and I ended fully supporting and shipping these two.
In this one we meet Kirino, a girl who is quite athletic and also a big otaku. When a new guy comes in her class who is pretty much the kind of guy she often falls for (and all her oshi look and act like him) she falls hard and decides to become his oshi. What that entails? Making sure he is happy (and also wear his theme colour (don’t ask)). And now that wouldn’t be the biggest problem if Kamitani wasn’t painfully shy and a tad deredere. He cannot handle girls and has a hard time speaking up. So she tries her hardest to think of ways to get the class to accept him and him have a bit less trouble with things. So she steals the ball from the football guys, thinks of ways so he can handle clean up chores with the girls in class, and there is more. It was really cute and fun.
But what was the most fun and the cutest thing was that these two had a hecking big chemistry between them and I was just hoping that instead of stanning it would become falling in love. And I can tell you, heck yes, it does that. You will be going KYAAA and CUTEEEE and OMG just kiss already throughout this volume. I loved it when Kirino started understanding that instead of oshi-ing she is just falling in love. And I think given the last page of the volume Kamitani is also seeing something similar. Teehee!
Kamitani was so adorable, and while I didn’t entirely like how angry he got and lashed out, I am glad he started to try and improve and that he isn’t the bad egg people think he is due to how he reacts.
Oh, and that bonus at the end! OH YESSSSSSS!
The art is just stunning and gorgeous, I really love Kamitani blushes, and lord, I would have stanned him too. Plus, when he is not wearing his mask he has a fang-tan, and everyone who knows me knows I love those fangs! So bonus points to Kamitani!
All in all, I really would love to see how this one continues and see them start dating, because they need to start being honest and do that. This one was super cute and super fun and I would recommend it to all!
