Review: Love at First Memory, Vol.1
I received this manga from the publisher on Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.
I have to be honest I fell for this one because of the pretty cover and the gorgeous character designs! Just look at it! And I can tell you the story is also fun!
Meet Mia. A superduper rich girl and the heiress from Takanashi group. She has a harem of suitors around her and just as she was about to announce who she was going to marry/who was the boy of her dreams… she gets into and accident. And then wakes up some time after in pure confusion. She has forgotten all! Including the 4 hot boys storming into her room. From that moment I just couldn’t stop reading. I was invested. I was curious if she would figure out who she picked or if, due to amnesia, she would fall in love with someone else. I mean it is all possible, I have read enough amnesia plots! Not to mention her personality seems to have shifted as well. At points she is the same, at other points not. To the point that she herself also talks to herself as pre-amnesia Mia and the Mia she is now.
Then there are the 4 guys. One arranged marriage fiancé (who I was unsure about but maybe he is just like that guy from the WEBToon that was recently finished and he is a good guy, so far we have seen some good moments), a guy who is a conman or at least acts like that (and he just pisses me off with how he thinks he is all that and has a right be with Mia the most), a hot model (who looked a bit clumsy but was by far my favourite), and a cute brother-type (who I never really saw as a dating prospective sorry Ririto). And she has to find out who she was going to marry. And guess what, in true harem fashion they are now all living together. Chaos ensues!
The amnesia at times goes further than just forgetting who to marry. She has forgotten items/objects from daily life. Forgot how to act in high society. And more. So it is good that she has 4 boys around her who are there to help her. Because her parents? They never once show up. Yup. Rich parents who apparently don’t care about their daughter beyond getting her married off. Rude. Yes.
I loved Mia and I loved her get closer to the guys. To figure out what happened and how to go on with things. To tell the boys little bits of things she remembers. Like how the model thought that pre-amnesia Mia just didn’t care about him/his modelling work and now-Mia told him the truth by the bits and pieces she gathered/remembered. That was such a sweet scene.
The art and the character designs are just so pretty! I love it! The cover isn’t just a teaser it is the real deal.
All in all, I am invested. I need to know who she will pick, if she will remember more, and what is going to happen next. I would recommend this one to all fans of amnesia plots x harem!
