I received this book from the publisher on Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.

So what to do when you cannot sleep? You read. XD. I was planning on waiting for my preorder but a fellow blogger told me I should just get the arc, and here we are. In the end of January.

In this one we are back with our Guardians, with Amu and her 4 tiny ones. We are closing in on her graduating, but before that happens there is a big mission for her. And for our Prince. She has to go to Arcane Academy to see what the heck is going on there. I was totally curious what all the mission would entail, but for most I was just happy to see Amu again. And all my favourite characters and their guardian characters.

Let’s see, what did I like when we started the story:

😍 As I said, I am really happy to see everyone again! See the antics Amu gets into thanks to her guardian characters, the Shugo Chara.
😍 See Amu try to manoeuvre this new school and learn to handle the toxicity of the place (because she has 3 (well 4 but that is a secret) little ones). I definitely wanted to give her a big hug at many moments throughout the manga. I am glad at least that she isn’t alone here and that we also get to see Prince. And that she has her guardian eggs who always try to cheer her up or help her out when needed. Though as the story continues we do see her make some big steps in trying to get over her shyness/over whatever is happening and be brave/get courage.
😍 Arcane Academy looks so cool but also toxic. Plus, I am also very curious about those eggs they give kids especially given the ending. So the mystery? That one is A-Plus. I am definitely into this one and I figuring out what the heckity is going on here.
😍 I love the jewels and when I saw them I had a suspicion what would happen (a good suspicion). They are also so pretty that I want to see them in real life.
😍 I like Kurumu. She was shy, but also adorable. I did have a laugh at how she and Amu met up, oh Amu! But I hope that Kurumu gets a bit more courage and that she and Amu are able to become friends.
😍 The transformation at the end, all the sailor moon vibes, but I love it. This brings big promises for the rest of the story and I am curious to see what will happen next.
😍 Loved the new outfits and I love that Amu even customized hers. As I had expected because that was her thing in the previous series. I do hope that we get to see more customizations or maybe even some cool outfits.
😍 The art is absolutely stunning once again!
😍 Who we see at the end! YESSSSSSSSSSS!

😣 But I don’t like many of the new characters, especially Nita just gives me the icky when he so desperately goes after Amu when she is very adamant that no is no. Seriously, we have Ikuto he is our bestest boy and I want him, not this new annoying can’t listen to no character. Please, no love triangle because I will just DNF the series then.
And then there is our head girl (or whatever she is) whose attitude was so fucking toxic that I didn’t find it in me to find much sympathy when things went south. I am sorry, but seriously, this girl was targeting Amu the whole time. Because she has so many guardian eggs. Um, hello, Amu didn’t just order them like you would do on a menu, she just got them. I hope that in the next one she chills out a bit more. And the same with other people at the school. Jeez people, jealous much?
😣 And yes, at times it felt a bit like the previous story. With the eggs, the bad stuff, the losing of your guardian egg if it gets x-ed and it cannot be purified. Hopefully it changes just a bit more as the story continues.

All in all, I am still very happy I got the chance to read and review this first volume in this new series. I am curious to see how things continue. I would recommend this one if you read the first two series (Shugo Chara and Shugo Chara-chan!) and want more!
