“Am I most attracted to the people who are destined to do me the most harm?”

🩸 I loved seeing Sloane grow as the story continued. From a meek girl who was OK with her home situation (with a scumbag of a husband) to a girl who was slowly standing up on her own and saying HECK no. I did like that she went along with some of Naomi’s antics even if it meant the bad things that happened for eternity. I loved her slowly being able to speak up more. Embracing her flaws. Embracing this new her. But also I loved how she was able to hold in, not giving in. OK, there were some dicey moments, but in overall she held out pretty well for a new vampire. Sloane was a really fun character and I was rooting for her!
🩸 The night at the mansion, from the orgy (to which Sloane said heck no which is fair) to her discovering new love to the gruesome scene that happens after and that will stick with me for a while. Holy crap. That was bad. Not bad written, oh no, bad in holy heck imagine experiencing that while awake. While conscious. shivers
🩸 Seeing the girls adjust to the new life. The eternal one. The thirst to blood. The new decisions they had to make. No more mirrors. No more aging. Figuring out how to get blood. That kind of stuff.
🩸 The vampires. I wasn’t at first sure about them, like Sloane I was very wary of them, but I love that they took their responsibilities when things went wrong and gave the girls (or at least Sloane) a choice. And that they followed them around and helped them when needed or solved the problems as Naomi went fully feral. I loved that. Not always does this happen so to see a supportive vampire clan was refreshing and fun. I liked that we figured out some things about them, wouldn’t mind a whole book about this group and see how they found each other and how they became so close.
🩸 Loved reading how the vampires gained their blood. I loved that they didn’t attack humans instead they robbed a blood bank, but in such a way that people would think they just made a mistake.
🩸 I was so proud when Sloane said FUCK you to her hubby and just ended things. She should have done that years ago, but I could also understand that she didn’t want to lose everything.
🩸 I loved that the author wasn’t afraid to shy away from gruesome things. Some parts will definitely stick with me for a while. shivers Like with that one vampire we meet later on.
🩸 The last part was such a good one and I enjoyed it greatly, I loved what the girls picked, I loved their decision, and I loved it even more that we even got an epilogue! YAS!
🩸 The cover is so fabulous, I love how well it fits with the book!

🤔 I am still not entirely sure about the friendship between Naomi and Sloane. At times I could understand the love and friendship between them, but then there were times we read about their past and how Naomi would just forget about Sloane. And then as the story continued and our girls got turned… Naomi became less and less fun to read about. Whereas Sloane tried to hold her thirst in, hold her feralness, Naomi didn’t care about things. She was so thirsty that she just went for it even if it meant bad things. I just wanted to see her hold in FOR ONCE instead of constantly being bitey and then also not even caring about the consequences or the people she hurt. She was the archetypical vampire, drinking draining killing. And I hated her attitude towards Sloane. Instead of understanding that Sloane was not amused with the vampires or with Naomi being a murder machine she just didn’t seem to care and it was just so fucking toxic that I wanted to slap Naomi (not I would given she is a feral blood thirsty vampire).

But all in all, this was one book I couldn’t put down it was so good! So intoxicating! Recommended to all!
