Review: Adventuremice: Mice, Camera, Action!
A new adventure is here! This time we are going to Hollywood, or as they call it HollyBush!
🤩I loved going to HollyBush (and I wanna go as well, can someone transform me into a mouse?). I really enjoy all the various islands in this world, and this one was superspecial as it sounded just so sparkly. I love the reason why it is named like that. A bit akin to the letters in the hills, this one has a hollybush on the hills!
🤩 The movie about the adventuremice was so fun though I had a giggle at the cast. They looked so glamourous and so not like someone about to go rescue people and fight otters. On that note can we make a real movie about our adventuremice? I would love that!
🤩 We meet a cute otter who was lost and thought her mom/dad were here because of certain sounds. Though I can imagine that the mice are not such a fan. Not just for the danger but also for the pure and utter chaos that the otter was making at the filmstudios. That hole in the wall had me in total stitches. I was hoping that our little one would find its home again and I love how the adventuremice did their best to help out and figure out a way.
🤩 Which led to a visit of an older character, one I wasn’t such a fan of, but I do like seeing him for a little bit.
🤩 And thanks to the otter we got even more of a glimpse at the other studios and I really want to be transformed into a little mouse and just be there. Be part of it all. I want to dance on that fake cake. Do cowboy scenes! dreams on
🤩 We also get a lot of new characters. Not just the guy arranging the meeting with the adventuremice and the director, but also the director, the cast, the otter. I loved seeing the world of the adventuremice expand and I hope that we get to see these characters again in later books!
🤩 I really loved the art. Sarah McIntyre is really one of my favourite illustrators in the world. I love her art, her designs, how she can tell a whole story with just illustrations. Love it!
🤩 loved the last bit with the Can festival and I was clapping/applauding as well.
🤩 And I loved all the references. We already have the rescue rangers reference with the adventuremice but now we get a ton of film/movie references, festivals (that Can(s) festival was just so on point and made me laugh).
🤨 Pedro annoyed me at the start with how he didn’t know what movies were and just making a mess. I mean it was so obvious a setting and not a real life situation that I wondered if Pedro really had zero IQ points.
But this was just oodles of fun and I flew through it one go. I would highly recommend this series to all!
