New Releases I Hope to Read in June 2026
Hi hi!

Welcome to a new New Releases I Hope to read post! June is knocking on the door and I am so excited!
And as for May, well that one, just like every month so far has flown by. It wasn’t the best month of the year for me, my health really plummeted. Which for most has to do with my dad again. Early May I was thinking of going with my uncle/aunt to visit as my dad’s birthday was around that time. The night before I woke up super nauseous and dizzy and I just kept puking. The next day was the same, I just kept going. My body (and mind) were clearly not ready to visit my dad after that aggressive encounter in February that stirred up some childhood stuff. It took my body a few days to stop with being overly nauseous, but for most of May I was also not doing well, as if my body (mind) just crashed and needed to get back together. I spend most of May in and out of bed, doing stuff that I needed/wanted to do and then going back to bed to read or relax. Thankfully, I am now feeling much better in that regards, but yeah, I won’t be visiting my dad anytime soon. I may want to try in July again. Wish me luck, I do miss my dad, or at least the sweet version of him, the one who is finally proud of me. I miss popping by to bring him snacks and magazines and just chat with him or sit in silence. sighs
What did I do between lying on bed? Well, I could do some more gardening now that everything is blooming. I took on a battle with slugs/snails (thanks to my readers for some suggestions) I am currently trying out copper tape and slug/snail pellets which seem to work, so wish me luck. I just want to add some new plants without them being eaten. I added some new hanging plants. I visited a small local garden centre/plant nursery when they had a big open day and I got several plants including one of those hanging plants. Last year I bought one from there and it bloomed the ENTIRE summer and a bit into fall. So I am hoping this new one will also do that.
I baked, new and old recipes. I am really into trying out boterkoeken. My hubby doesn’t like the natural/vanilla one, so I am trying to fill his life with boterkoeken, and so far I have made Speculaas, Chocolate, Lemon and Ginger, and I want to try out chocolate chip and one that combines a natural one with brownie edition on top of that. YUM! And my neighbours were also all very happy with the offerings~
Plus, I went shopping with Coco last week for some new clothes as I recently got my closet a bit cleared and had some room for new shiny stuff. I also got some other fun things during the shopping trip, like a new Monster High doll which I cannot wait to unbox and put up in my library!
And oh yes, the weather is perfect, well, OK it seems that with my perimenopause I cannot control my body temperature that well, and so it is a tad too warm for me, but I am still enjoying the summer weather. Sometimes I am outside, often I am inside the house but looking outside and enjoying the sun.
In regards to books? I got some amazing books that I cannot wait to read this month. Several Dutch ones too with most of them being horror, haha, I am so glad that they are releasing so much horror as I am a big horror girlie. And in English I got a whole load of fun picture books and graphic novels, along with some other books that look so good and I cannot wait for them to be released.
What are your most anticipated reads of the upcoming month? Let me know in the comments if I should add anything to my list!
