Review: One Last Snoot Boop
I received this book from the author in exchange of an honest review.
When I got the request I knew this book would get me in tears, but I just had to read it.
In this adorable picture book we meet a family who is picking up a cute puppy. They name it Cuthbert. And Cuthbert is having the best time at the family. We see them go on walks, see lots of hugs and playtime, see the little puppy just grow up. I loved each and every moment though I was also worrying about the end, I knew what was coming but I just wasn’t ready to let go of Cuthbert just yet. I just wanted way more happy and joyful moments. But eventually I just had to read on and see how the last moments of Cuthbert were. It really made me cry, but I love how positive it ended, of course still with tears, but also with a happy message. Cuthbert may not be here anymore but he is always with them in their hearts. It is just splendid and it is a wonderful message to everyone who has lost a pet. Yes, it isn’t easy, but remember they are always with you.
And if I wasn’t already emotional to the brim at the end we get an extra bit about Cuthbert featuring photographs. I absolutely loved that though it made me cry so much.
The illustrations/the art, OMG, those were just so pretty and gorgeously drawn. Wonderful watercolour drawings featuring full backgrounds and lots of details. And of course, adorable little Cuthbert growing up!
All in all, I can only sing praises for this wonderful and sweet book that made me cry. I am so glad I got the chance to read and review this book. I would highly recommend it to everyone.
