Sunday’s TBR Updates ~ 10-5-2026

Hi all!

Bakemonogatari GIF featuring two characters in a pile of books and throwing books at each other

How was this week? Well, healthwise once again not well. Those who read these posts know that I was planning on visiting my dad for his birthday (after almost 2 months of no thank you after he threatened/almost got violent/stalked me at the care home) but my body clearly said HECK no the night before. Well, Monday/Tuesday I was still nauseous and the other days I was so so tired. I did manage to do things though, but it wasn’t the best of weeks. I am clearly not ready to see my dad yet, so he will have to wait. I want to give it another try next month.
But there were also good things this week! I popped by Library 2 a couple of times to pick up reservations/grab some books. On Friday I visited Library #4 + the city of that library and I bought some new summery clothes that I cannot wait to start wearing now the weather is turning warm. On Saturday I popped by a local plant nursery/small garden centre as they had a special day to celebrate their anniversary, I got two new hanging plants along with a few other plants + two prints and two hair ties (yes, they also sell non-plant/garden items which are all made by people who work there). And today I am planning on just relaxing, reading, see how my new plants are doing as I have a bit of a snail problem (already several of my new plants and a box of seedlings were eaten). Does anyone have any homemade recipes against snails? I tried coffee grounds and while that did work a bit for some plants others have just been eaten as if there was no coffee, haha.
Oh, and on Friday I also baked two lemon cakes (yum) and tried a new recipe, lemon and ginger boterkoek (which is freaking delicious).
Reading-wise, well with all the not happy body stuff I could read quite a bit this week! I also read quite a few manga from ComicsPlus and read books that are not on the stack but next to my nightstand by my bed. It was a good week! I had a lot of fun reading~

What did I read from my TBR? Paprika Holiday Special (ohhh lalala swoons), Feral Pet City (so so so much excitement and tension and OMG I need the next volume), Cyberpunk 1 (I had so much fun with this though at times my stomach didn’t approve of the gore), Hotel Limbo 1 (at times a bit weird/confusing, but in overall very fun), Camp Sylvania (I loved the characters, the friendship, vampires), We maken pizza (yummmmm), De vulkaan (a bit over the top but still a delight to read), Onzichtbaar (super interesting though at times also sad), Ronaldo is de beste (this was such a good one, love these soccer books), Are you scared yet (another over the top book but still a good read), Last Wolf (writing was a bit wonky at times, but I had fun and I love the illustrations), Pip en Peer gaan naar zee (cuuuuteee), Dag oude ik (this was a surprisingly fun read that wow-ed me).

I tried and dropped (and at least tried a chapter or so)? Bunker (yawnnnn).

And here is a new stack with some new additions from Library #2 and #4 along with a new book I bought on Amazon last week.

Stack of Books

That is the end of this post! I am excited about my new stack, and I hope that next week is a bit better health-wise (at this point I will take all the bits). Thank you all for reading, and thank you all again for all the love, shares, comments, likes, and more, I appreciate it so so much! I want to wish everyone a very happy week with plenty of good books and good weather. Enjoy!

  1. I’m not having a snail problem but I’m starting to have a slug problem, so similar? They ate th top of my basil seedling, okra, and toothache plants. 😭 Coffee grounds never worked for me. I usually buy the slug pellets and sprinkle them around the plants or in the seedling pot.

    1. Very similar then! Urgh, all the good plants are getting eaten then. Thanks! I will see if I can find those here and if they aren’t poisonous for dogs (because while Coco knows not to go in the garden, sometimes she does).

  2. I hope you are feeling better, Enjoy the new stack!
A combination is often needed to deter snails, spraying with garlic water, along with scattering coffee grounds, and using overnight beer traps on the perimeter of the beds might work. Plus also removing them by hand just after dusk.

    Thanks for sharing your week.

    1. Thank you! Not feeling much better, but little steps! Thank you, so far I am having a good week with them~
Oh, thank you for the tips! I will try out garlic water (though I need to get some garlic first, haha). Beer traps? You mean just putting a bit of beer in a bowl and it attracts them? I never thought snails would like beer. And will remember to remove them, I don’t want to hurt the snails after all.

You’re welcome, and thank you for commenting!
