Review: Hotel Flamingo: Frosty Fiesta
We are back at Hotel Flamingo, are you ready for the biggest snowfall ever?
So I read this one in Dutch and that means that the names I will be using will be the Dutch ones as I don’t know the English ones.
Imagine my delight when I encountered this book at the library (in Dutch). I had thought the books ended at book 3, but instead there are two more (checked Goodreads after finding this one). I won’t be reading the 5th book because I have had enough lockdowns and pandemics for a lifetime, but this one had to come along with me. A bit of snow fun in the early spring time!
π Loved seeing our flamingo lady (Fragranti) again, she is such a sweet older lady and I love how she is always there for our MC and the hotel.
π Loved the turtle and what she wanted to do for her friends before going to hibernating. I also expected her friends to be turtles. Maybe this is mentioned in the earlier books but it has been a long time since I read the previous books so I don’t remember. It was a nice surprise though and made me laugh. Plus, I love the party!
π Loved the amount of snow! And wished I could be part of it all! Build igloos. Do snow sports (try my hand at skiing or snowboarding). Make snow angels! And more~
π Loved our MC and her hotel friends (though not the cook though I had a laugh she was easily manipulated in doing something and then also fully going for it). I loved how everyone worked hard to make the guests happy. From building something very special when bookings go crazy to special drinks and special foods. They try everything and I love it. I just wanted to be part of it. Enjoy a leisurely time at the hotel and trying out all it offers~
π T. Beer was such a sweetie though I hope he gets that rest he deserves!
π Loved the winter games and that they were now hosted in the town of the hotel, though I wonder why no one thought to tell the hotels they were coming, haha. They were NOT prepared.
π Loved the various sports that the contestants played. From snowboarding to skiing there was something wintery for everyone. The bunny duo (Flits and Flex which are brilliant names) was definitely my favourite, mostly because of their awesome moves which I would have loved to see in real life.
π Loved the art/illustrations. As always! They are such a delight.
π Had a laugh at the polar bear couple (Mortimer and Windy). Him working hard and just forgetting about things around him + thinking he knows better (oh boy) and her very pregnant and knowing that their cub is coming and then taking over a closet (I hope no one needed any blankets or towels, haha).
π Once again didn’t notice any ladybugs. I am so sorry. I am just too much into the book to notice him.
π¬ Didn’t like Fragranti’s nephew Filip. What a nitwit that was. The only times I liked him was when he was helping out those bunnies. Otherwise, nope. He broke stuff on purpose if things weren’t too his liking, did all kinds of other things, what a terror.
All in all, I am so happy I was able to visit this fun hotel again and while there haven’t been any new books sinceΒ 2020, I will keep on hoping for more! I would recommend this book + the series to all~
