Grab a book, open to a random page (either by flipping through it, using a randomizer, or let my husband pick), and pick a part of the book that speaks to me (can be anywhere from 2 to 6 sentences), add a cover, done.

Edit: This used to be on Thursday, but I am changing it to Tuesday as it works better that way.

Teaser Tuesday ~ The Housetrap by Emma Read

The Housetrap Emma Read, Children's Book, Mystery, House, Puzzles, Riddles, Secrets, escaping
I flipped through the pages and landed on page 167!
From behind them, the Frankenstein painting dropped to the ground with a thud.
Amity yelped.
With a crack, the wall split apart where the picture had hung, leaving a gap wider than Deliah’s thumb. Form there, it zigzagged across thew all, slicing through the flowery wallpaper, throwing one of the photographs of Hypatia to the floor where the glass shattered. The fissure forked as it raced across the wall. It reached a light switch and a clunk of laster exploded out, causing everyone to duck.
Then it stopped.

Teaser Tuesday ~ Tokyo Dreaming by Emiko Jean

Tokyo Ever After #2 Tokyo Dreaming Emiko Jean, Japan, Tokyo, Princess, Royalty, Young Adult, Romance, Asia, Family, Blue cover with a girl blowing a bubble and wearing a crown
This one is from Page 130! I tried a random number generator but it wasn’t that much random, haha, just kept picking the same numbers. So I flipped through my copy.
I stand on a velvet pedestal as a seamstress in all black slips a heavy, cool kimono over my shoulders and undergarments. Mom is beside – another seamstress drapes her in a kimono as well.
We both inhale, seeing ourselves in the three-paneled mirror. I run my hands down the fabric and trace the intricate pattern. The maple leaves are hand-painted, outlined in gold and silver on a peach background. Mom’s kimono is light orange and ombre the color of the sunset, with cranes alighting from the hem. The gowns are yuuzen kimonos, part of a dying art in Japan. Master makers struggle to pass the traditions on – there are no students to teach. All of the sudden, I remember Eriku showing me the slides of Nagoro village. The stuffed puppets frozen in time, populating a deserted landscape.

“That is true.” Cole kissed her cheek, and she ended up watching him instead of the show. How had this man entered her life a week ago and made such a difference? He felt like he belonged there next to her, and not just for this vacation.
None of that mattered. In twenty-four hours, she’d let him go.

I picked 109, libraries! Yes~
Theo and Alexander peered at the parchment. It was spared from the rain by an overhanging tree. On it was a map of the park. The tower, the sea, the river, the cabanas, the restaurant, the shop, and… the library.
“What kind of water park has a library?” Theo asked. Then she shook her head. “Actually you know what? This kind of water park has a library.”
Teaser Tuesday ~ The Thing in Black Hole Lake by Dashe Roberts

Teaser Tuesday ~ The Thing in Black Hole Lake by Dashe Roberts

Sticky Pines #2 The Thing at Black Hole Lake Dashe Roberts, Blue, Lake, Mystery, Creatures
I picked page 151, that one was fun!
The creature’s gelatinous dark body was growing, narrowing and twisting, like an enormous slab of black clay being moulded from within. Its colour began to pale, turning grey, then bone white. At last, the being congealed and settled in the form of a mighty stag as big as a horse. Colourless slime shimmered on its flank.

I flipped through the book and landed on page 49!
Christie slid down the tree, sending twigs and heart-shaped leaves flying everywhere. She put the newly retrieved glider on the ground and brushed her ahnds off on her already-stained clothes.
“What’s wrong?” she asked. “Did something happen?”
“Yes,” said Agatha. “I at someone’s important research.”
“What? How?”

Teaser Tuesday ~ Holiday With You by Claudia Burgoa, Grahame Claire

Winter Valley #1 Holiday with You Claudia Y. Burgoa , Grahame Claire, Snowglobe, Romance, Christmas, Holidays, Snow
I went through my ebook and landed on page 31!
A thick carpet of snow covers the street, but the air isn’t as cold as I expected. Sunlight reflects off the snow on the roofs of buildings, making the colors brighter. I feel as if I’m in a real-life Christmas village like the ones that decorate the department store windows. The town is cozy and inviting.
Teaser Tuesday ~ Grimwood by Nadia Shireen

Teaser Tuesday ~ Grimwood by Nadia Shireen

Grimwood, Nadia Shireen, Animals, Funny, Foxes, Children's Book, Illustrations
I flipped through the pages and stopped because I saw dinosaurs! And that was page 89~ I also added the illustration.
“Grimwood was discovered a gazillion and a half years ago,” began Willow. “Everything was in black and white, humans hadn’t been invented and dinosaurs roamed the earth and had cars and bank accounts.”
Grimwood, Dinosaurs, Humour, Children's Book, Nadia Shireen
Ted scampered behind her. Willow’s voice was loud and important-sounding, and she waved her paws around as she spoke, as if conducting an orchestra. She stood on top of a mound of earth and gestured towards a small pond.
Teaser Tuesday ~ Fear Ground by Jennifer Killick

Teaser Tuesday ~ Fear Ground by Jennifer Killick

Fear Ground (Dread Wood #2) by Jennifer Killick, Horror, Clowns, Children's Book, YA, Blue, Ferris Wheel, Scary
I had my hubby pick a page for me and he went with 256! Which starts nicely… but then.
I look around Finches Green as we make the slow climb to the top, our pod swinging and creaking in every breeze. It’s  Christmas tree bright, and full of happy faces.
“It’s magical, isn’t it?” Colette says. “Who’d have thought it?”
“Gus,” I say, and we both snort laugh.
And then suddenly the light sputter out, the music cuts off, and someone screams.
