The ghosts were none-too-happy about becoming lunch. Being drained of all your blood and then coming back as a vengeful spirit would easily ruin your entire week.
On the other hand, the vampires argued that the whole situations was highly dramatic. The ghosts should get on with hit and stop all the wailing and chain-rattling. After all, it was the vampire way to drink the blood of the Living, much as a predator animal must catch its prey to survive.
