This time I asked my hubby for a page number and after lots of careful thinking he decided on page 248.
I hold my breath as I leave the suite. I don’t say goodbye, worried they won’t let me leave. I hold it in all the way down the corridor until I get to the lift.
I press the button.
I look over my shoulder to see if I’ve been followed.
The lift arrives with a ping and I step inside. I can’t even face myself in the mirror.
The doors slide shut.
I burst into tears.
